Decent greene king chain pub with separate restaurant (the smugglers) and rooms upstairs. There’s a nice ‘hidden’ seating area behind the bar and before the restaurant entrance which was quiet on our visit. We had beef rib bourgignon and the mushroom and ale pie on our visit with a bottle of picpoul de pinet. Meals were flavoursome though the beef was a bit dry. The wine was very tasty. Decent value for £60 I thought.
Fantastic experience. Wonderful attentive staff, both from the arrival to the bar staff. The room was very big with all amenities included. The food too matched the staff and hotel, excellent. We parked in the high street car park (€2.50 for the night; 18:00-08:00).
Just want to say a massive thank you for craig he stopped late for me as I was stuck in a 6 hour traffic jam. Service was really good. The breakfast was delicious and the overall experience was really nice. The bathroom had a hole in the roof, and the extractor fan looked like it had seen better days. Other than that a very clean and pleasant hotel.
Cut price lunch time dining. Two mains and a drink each for £30. What's not to like? Service was fantastic. Our server was so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Loos were spotless. Food portions were very generous and arrived piping hot. Historically this hotel is famous for its role in WW2 as a meeting place for the Special Operations Executive. Operation Postmaster and Maid of Honour force. Operation Postmaster wikipedia pages contain more information.

Lovely stay for a wedding at start of December, rooms had plenty of facilities, we didn't have breakfast as we went out near by. The hotel is central and plenty near by. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious even though they were busy they did manage to seat us. We then had drinks in the bar and service was prompt and friendly.

We came for Mother's Day and had the Mothers day menu. The food was fantastic and plenty on on the plates. Great variety of food choices for adults and children alike. Even my fussy eater ate til she was full!! The service was great and our waitress, Sophie, was attentive and very helpful. Food arrived quickly, hot and full of flavour. We will definitely come back again.
